Will drinking make your period longer?

Ok this weekend I went out with a group of friends. One of my girls was on her period and said she didnt want to drink bacause the alchol would slow her period and then make it start again. weird huh.. and she was sober when she said this. I kow we have crazy old wives tales growing up, but thats just odd. Has anyone heard this before?? I told her to try it and let us know, but she sisnt want to.
