Why does DirecTV lie to it's potential customers?
Your rant is more misleading than Directv's advertising, as you claim. The $29.99 price point for the family pack programming package has not become obsolete. You are never charged anything until your system is installed and ACTIVATED. It is at that moment you are legally obligated to the terms of the commitment agreement. This "cancel in 24 hr". idea is absurd. Now in your defense you may have gotten your info from a rip off telemarketing company that only cares about getting the sale and then sub contracting the install, its a common practice, qwest does this as well as telemarketers who get away with lying to you or promising you things that are untrue. What do they care, they throw 1000 sales at the wall and only 800 stick..not a bad pay off for them. unfortunately its the uninformed consumer who gets screwed. Im not standing up for the service providers at all, but hate when people walk into things like this blindly then claim the company is screwing them. If that was true they wouldn't have millions of content customers nor would they even be able to stay in business. So never order a service from a national provider from the phone book, mail slick or a received cold sales call. read, know and understand everything about what you ordered before you sign anything or schedule an appt for some one to be at your house for that matter. And stop blaming companies because you got chumpped.
