My hair turned purple insted of red?

First of all you started with a color that has a blue base, then you put a color on it that has a predominant red tone (what do blue and red make?) and a secondary color of violet. Now you need to tone it with a demi permanent level 4 with a gold tone (because gold cuts violet) this should leave you with auburn if it is watched carefully . I would suggest going to a salon for this, because it is color correction and if you're not doing it properly you can end up with very damaged hair.
