Can she change divorce papers like this?

My friend is in the middle of a divorce and him and his wife are doing it civil with no lawyers. The only thing they owned jointly was a vehicle that was his, and his wife cosigned on it. When they originally filled out court papers, it was decided that and stated that the truck would be his responsibility for him to maintain. They got into a small argument recently and she told him that she went down to the court’s and changed the papers and if he doesn’t take her name off the truck by the court date, the courts will take the truck away Can she do this or is she bluffing and trying to scare him? He was never notified of any changes by the court.
