Navy Questions: please answer with a lot of helpful info and tell the truth Vets and current navy people. Than?

Well 1st off anything that can happen to you in the Navy can also happen to you in civilian life ever hear off drive bys and drunk drivers? As for your chances of getting hurt that depends on your job more than anything else if your parking airplanes on a carrier you might have a better chance of getting hurt than say the guy filling out personnel files. During my time in the scariest part was my 1st and only time under fire thankfully this was a very one sided affair and it was more target practice than combat as the enemy was just out of range for his weapons to hit us not so for our guns. As for percentages again it really depends on your job but the rates are still quite low. As for fear that is something you will have to face yourself. The only thing you really need to fear is fear itself ignore the fear and do the job and you will do just fine. I am not a seer you could die crossing the street or falling overboard but I would say the chances in all reality are the same. I found the experience of being in the Navy awesome and life changing as it helped shape me into a better stronger individual besides all those benefits for your wife and kid are a definite boost don't ya think?
