1st degree kidnapping in CT?

My cousin was arrested couple months ago for kidnapping and robbery charges, he was with 4 other people and wasn't the one who threw the guy in the car, he just had the gun and he tought his friends was just goin to rob him and one of his friend decided to force him in the car. Can it be possible for the court to drop the kidnapping charge because that wasn't his idea or reduce a mantory 10 year sentence(A cl felony in CT mantory)? because the kidnappin wasn't his idea, he is still incarcerated.
